Engineering

As part of its EPCM services, Gamma Development Corporation offers comprehensive engineering studies for a variety of applications.

After the conception design phase and feasibility studies, a project enters the engineering phase, another area in which Gamma Development Corporation excels, offering progressive Basic Engineering Design (BED), Front-end Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering services.

Our engineering studies cover the following:

  • Process
  • Fixed Equipment
  • Pressure vessels
  • Rotating equipments
  • Instrumentation
  • Control Systems
  • Electrical facilities
  • Piping
  • Cost control and scheduling

Basic Engineering Design (BED)

Gamma Development Corporation is highly adept in the preparation and delivery of Basic Engineering Packages (BEPs). As a minimum, our BEPs cover the following:

  • Conceptual process studies
  • Preliminary Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Project Design Basis and Process Description
  • Definition and sizing of main equipment resulting in process specifications
  • Definition of control and safety devices
  • Hazard Study Data and Area Classification Diagram
  • Basic studies required to support a Basic Engineering Design Package
  • Equipment List and Equipment Process Data Sheets
  • Process Instrumentation Philosophy and Logic Diagram

Front End Engineering Design (FEED)

As a natural progression of our work from feasibility and concept development stage of a project, our services have grown to offer Front-end Engineering and Design (FEED) services.

Typically in a FEED phase of a project, we will develop the engineering definition of the chosen concept to a stage where the operator could issue EPC / turnkey Invitation to Tender. We also develop project cost estimates and execution strategy in readiness for Final Investment Decision by the Operator.

All our FEED work is provided with an understanding of the key economic and risk drivers for the project. Our Front-end Engineering Design phase covers the following:

  • Mechanical Data Sheets of the main equipment, starting from the process specifications issued during the BED and incorporating the specific requirements of codes and standards to applied to the project
  • Thermal rating of heat exchangers
  • Preparation of tender packages for the main equipment
  • Development of Process and Utility Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) released for detail engineering
  • Development of detailed plot plans and Hazardous Areas
  • Elaboration of the main Piping, Instrument, Electrical and Civil Works Layouts

Detailed Engineering

The Detailed Design will serve as the basis for the implementation phase. Our detailed design capabilities cover the following:

  • Purchasing of Equipment, main and bulk
  • Definition and description of interfaces
  • Development of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) released for construction
  • Detailed Piping drawings, including isometrics and stress calculations
  • Detailed drawings related to instrumentation, electrical facilities and civil works
  • Cost and schedule control
  • Start-up procedures
  • Documentation
